Jim Bridger: An Amazing & Exciting Story "I trust somebody will give us a complete history of Jim Bridger and his mountain comrades and the remarkable and stirring events of their time." General Dodge penned those words in 1905 as he saluted the greatest mountaineer, trapper, and guide America has ever seen. Today, General Dodge's call for a complete history has been answered by Jerry Enzler. Jerry Enzler is the founder of the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, a 14-acre, Smithsonian-Affiliated museum in Dubuque, Iowa. His new book, Jim Bridger: Trailblazer of the American West, captures the life of Jim Bridger, including new information about Bridger's interactions with General Grenville Dodge during the Plains Indian Wars of 1865-1866. Enzler has appeared on the History Channel, been interviewed on public radio in the U.S., Europe, and Japan, and has given public addresses and programs in the United States, France, Scotland, and Ireland.
Advanced registration is required. Official Dodge House members, $10; all others, $15. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
