Interested in backpacking but unsure where to start? Join the Loess Hills Nordic Ski Patrol for Introduction to Backpacking, where you will explore the dynamics of backcountry travel!
In this two-part lecture and hands-on course, you will learn how to navigate and travel in the wilderness with all your gear. We will examine how to plan a trip, select and use essential gear, then implement what you learned on an overnight adventure in the Loess Hills Hitchcock Nature Center.
This course includes the following instruction dates and times:
- Saturday, May 10th | 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Saturday to Sunday, May 17th-18th | Overnight, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
