Celebrating Women's History Month! Our Victorian ancestors had specific views on the “fairer sex”. They believed women were mentally and physically inferior to men, and that the only appropriate role for them was as wives and mothers. These attitudes also affected what doctors and women knew and believed about the female body. What effect did these views have on the personal lives of Victorian women? Learn the answer to this question and more, and discover what made Scarlett O’Hara such a “bad girl”. Who knows, you may find you’re one, too! Presented in person by Historian, Educator and Museum Specialist, Kathy Wilson of Historical Perspectives. This program is free and open to the public and has been made possible with help from the Council Bluffs Public Library Foundation.
