Business Travel Needs Served Here
Business travel requires the right kind of services and support while on the road. Travelers can count on finding them in Council Bluffs or nearby.
Air Travel, Amtrak, & Ground Transportation
The mode of travel defines business travel in so many ways. Getting to your destination is half the battle. If doing so requires a flight, be assured that Omaha’s Eppley Airfield (OMA) is your best way to fly to Council Bluffs. Eight airlines provide nonstop service to and from 31 destinations. More than five million passengers were served in 2023. With the airport’s location on the far eastern edge of Omaha near the Missouri River, it is a mere ten-minute drive from the airport to Council Bluffs. Several hotels provide complimentary shuttle service from the airport to their property. In addition to taxis, Uber and Lyft both serve Council Bluffs and Omaha. All of the major rental car agencies can be found at Eppley. Enterprise has a location in Council Bluffs near I-80/29. To offer another mode of travel, Amtrak serves Omaha with its depot located next to the Durham Museum, formerly a Union Station, south of downtown Omaha. It is a five-minute drive from Council Bluffs.
Business Support Services & Big Box Retail
For the essentials of office supplies, shipping, and printing, Council Bluffs has you covered here, too, with Office Max, UPS Store, and Firespring (copy/printing). There’s big box retail located in or near specific hubs within the city: Madison Avenue & I-80, Lake Manawa Power Center, The Marketplace/Mid-America Center, and Metro Crossing.
Healthcare
No one likes to think they’ll need healthcare during a business trip, but it happens. Council Bluffs possesses two hospitals, CHI Health Mercy and Methodist Jennie Edmundson, and five urgent care clinics: CHI Health Priority Care – Valley View, CHI Health Priority Care – W Broadway, Convenient Care Walk-in Medical Center, Methodist Urgent Care, and Urgent Care Council Bluffs. Major drug store chains are also found here, including Walgreens and CVS, along with pharmacies at Target and Walmart.
Coffee Connection
What’s a highly productive business day filled with meaningful accomplishments and meeting deadlines without coffee? Not possible, you say? Caffeine is on nearly every corner in CB with the usual suspects – Starbucks (four locations) and Dunkin’; Omaha-area franchise – Scooter’s Coffee (three locations); and a local outlet – J’s Coffee Coffee & Donuts.
Never fear business travelers. Council Bluffs has your back.
