The Council Bluffs Parks and Recreation Department presents the 6th Annual Comedy Night at River's Edge, scheduled for Friday, September 20, 2024, from 7-9 p.m. on the lawn outside River's Edge Pavilion (4250 River's Edge Parkway). This free event offers an evening of comedy with four comedians from The Backline Comedy Theatre in Omaha, Nebraska.
Comedy Night has become a tradition for both locals and visitors. Originally hosted at Bayliss Park in September 2019, the event moved to River's Edge in 2021, where attendees can watch the show with views of the Missouri River and the Omaha skyline.
This year’s lineup includes Gary Curtis, Jason Regan, Heather Jones, and Zach Peterson. These performers will each deliver 30-minute sets.
“We’re thrilled to bring back Comedy Night at River's Edge for its sixth year,” said Dan Bettmann, Recreation and Events Manager for the Council Bluffs Parks and Recreation Department. “This event has grown into something our community really looks forward to, and we’re excited to see everyone come together for an evening of laughter and fun.” “Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, we welcome you to join us for a great night out at one of Council Bluffs’ most beautiful venues.”
Limited seating will be available on the River's Edge Pavilion patio. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome—arrive early to secure your spot. Please note that due to the nature of stand-up comedy, this event is intended for adults 18 and older. Free parking is available in the parking garage.
