Fossils Under Your Feet

June 1 | 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Council Bluffs Public Library

Join us for an exciting journey into the ancient world of marine fossils found right here in our local area! Learn about the ancient oceanways that used to cover Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas. We're thrilled to welcome UNO’s Jon Schueth, Assistant Professor of Geology, whose expertise in microscopic fossils sheds light on the oceans of ancient times. He will be giving a presentation about the ancient sea life that once swam right here in the midwest, and will be bringing along some examples of fossils that can be found in the area. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. Additionally, feel free to bring along any fossils that you may have found which you’d like to be identified!
